Dear Parents and Community Members,

Welcome to CEB home of the bees!  I am excited to serve as Principal of Charles E. Bennett Elementary.

The teachers and staff at Charles E. Bennett Elementary work hard to provide a safe learning environment for all students.  Using rigorous instructional practices, teachers have high expectations for all students so that they can have academic success.

At CEB, we are a Title 1 and Cambridge Primary school.  As a Title 1 school, we have additional staff to assist students and teachers to improve student achievement and engagement with parents and families.  Our students are not required to pay for breakfast and lunch.  We are proud to serve as a Cambridge Primary school where our learners are Responsible, Innovative, Confident, Engaged, and Reflective.  As a Cambridge Primary school, our students are becoming critical thinkers and ready for career and college success.

We are all a team at CEB, so as a team we are going to focus on increasing student attendance, student achievement, and school pride.  We encourage all parents and guardians to be involved in their student’s education.  We will have opportunities for parents and guardians to volunteer and participate in Parent/Family Engagement events.

As the principal of CEB, I believe that all students should have equal access to learning experiences that are rigorous and meaningful.  Along with the PBIS team, we will work to change the school-wide expectations, improve student recognition, and student attendance so that all students feel welcome at CEB.

I am delighted to return to Charles E. Bennett to serve the students, staff, and community of Green Cove Springs.

Sincerely,

Amanda Strickland

Dear Parents and Community Members:

I am very excited to be the  Assistant Principal at Charles E Bennett Elementary.     I am looking forward to working with the students, staff and community at CEB.

At Charles E. Bennett, we strive to help our students become lifelong learners. We encourage and welcome parents to be actively involved in your child's education. We also encourage parents to become an active member of our School Advisory Council (SAC) . This is a great way to be involved and have input in the school.

I have over 30 years of experience in education, working as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, district specialist, assistant principal and principal.  I have worked in many different learning environments in both Flagler and Duval County before coming to Clay County.

I have one son who graduated from Oakleaf High School’s AICE program. He also graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Biomedical Science. He is starting his second year of Pharmacy School at the University of South Florida..

I am honored to be part of the CEB family and Clay County. Thank you for your continued encouragement and support with your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Assistant Principal, Jessica Jewell

Hello and welcome to Charles E. Bennett! I am thrilled to be a part of such a great community and work with exceptional leaders, staff, and students.

C.E.B. encourages our students to perform at their best potential.  We believe that all students have the opportunity to learn to become the best versions of themselves. Clay County has some of the best academic pathways for students to be a part of, and I know that all students can be successful and shine. It takes a village some say to ensure that children have all the opportunities possible, and I believe that. Through positive reinforcements both in and out of school, attendance, and a home/school connection, we can collaborate as a team and work together to make this the best school year possible.

I am a product of Clay County Schools (Go Raiders!), and have also had great experiences with sending my own children through our school system. I have been with Clay County for over 13 years, serving as an aide, classroom teacher, dean, and administrator. Being in a variety of settings has allowed me to build relationships with so many students and families that I will always hold special.

Let’s make this the best year possible! I am excited to “BEE” a part of such an exciting journey!

Warmly,

Jessica Jewell
